Raises hand!

I love this time of year just prior to the holidays, but the darkness is so depressing.

During the summer months I am out and about or just sitting in my yard with my dog or busy doing little chores around the house.

This time of year, I'm eating dinner at 5, and in my jammies by 6. No real motivation to do any little task once it's dark. sad

I was discussing this my H last week.
I HATE everything about winter, the cold, the dark dreary days, the lack of sunlight, the cold, the snow, the ice, the dark dreary days, the cold, and most of all the lack of sunlight. LOL

Seriously though I give a little cheer when the sun sets on that shortest of days, and usually go to be extra early, I settle in for a long winters nap.

But think in a month it will still be light out after work, and the sun will be up hopefully before I log into my work computer.

It's a dark dreary winter morning here, with some precip expected tonight, but later this week real snow, and super cold temps.

I don't know if I have mentioned it before, but I HATE WINTER !!!!! Come on longer days.

Gosh I'm feeling for those of you with really early dark days. Here in SoCal, it's not completely dark until almost 5:15-5:30. I mean, I'm turning lights on in the house around 4, but there are glimmers of light in the sky until well after 5.

I hope none of you have travel plans impacted by the impending blizzard and bomb cyclone. But yea, would it be December without some miserable weather somewhere in the states?

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't wait for the shortening of the days to be OVER and get back onto the upswing. I have SAD, and position my desk as close to windows as I can so I can soak up every possible photon I can. It's cold in that corner of our new place, but I can always put on more clothes, right? (BTW, that adage is not true. Three sweaters, and it gets hard to bend your arms.) But it's a heck of a lot warmer down here in the South than up where I come from!

C'mon sun! Is it daylight savings time yet?

We made it! No more decrease in daylight minutes until next June!

Don't know about other areas, but where we live, the sunrise loses four minutes between now and January 16th, when the sun starts coming up earlier again. But between now and then, we gain 19 minutes of daylight before sunset. All in all, a net gain!

Days get longer from here.
Of course we are set for a polar vortex, bomb cyclone, winter storm "of a lifetime" as they said on the news this am.

It's going to snow and get bitter cold. I plan to stay in my house until further notice. LOL.

Snow and ice bomb cycle is right!

Dang! It's cold. We have about one inch of light snow. No way am I getting out for anything! I have a Dutch Apple pie in the oven, smelling so good and warming up the kitchen.

I am a SUMMER person, do not like winter.

We got a few inches of snow and it is now sleeting and changing over to rain.

The temperature is going up and then going to drop drastically tomorrow. Wind and cold advisories for the next two days. I hope the power stays on. We have a generator but it can't handle the heat pump.

I would be happy if the temperature would stay between 50 and 75. I don't like winter but I don't like heat and humidity either.

Stay safe and warm everybody!!
