I remember thinking how awful that would have been - to deal with that as a young woman. You must have felt like it was written just for you!
Yeah, it kind of sucked. "Deenie" was the only book (fiction) I ever read that addressed it. It meant a lot to me.

Loved her books!!!!!
I am so excited to see she had two adult novels. I had no idea! I know what I am bringing to the cottage for summer reading

Ok so looking on Amazon it appears there is at least four novels for adults by her. There is "Wifey", "Smart Women", "Summer Sisters" and "In the Unlikely Event".
I suppose I will see if I can get all four at the library !

Gosh, I remember my mother reading "Wifey" when I was a kid. I snuck it into my room and needless to say, I didn't understand a lot of the, um, adult parts.

Wifey was just terrible. My book club is reading Unlikely Event and I haven't purchased it yet because Wifey was such a bad read. Also, Wifey has a lot of infidelity, just as a warning.
I loved her tween books, though!

Thank goodness for libraries!

I forgot about Wifey and Smart Women! I know I read them years ago but the only one I remembered was Summer Sisters.
DS, you are forever in my heart. Thank you for sharing your beautiful spirit with me. I will always try to live by the example you have set. I love you and miss you every day and am sorry you had to go so soon, it just doesn't seem fair.

Just a side note on Judy Blume...she's a nice person, too. Recently, a newly married man accidentally sold or gave away his wife's prized copy of "Are You There God, It's Me, Margaret." Apparently, it was given to her by her now-deceased mother.
Judy heard about this and is trying to track down a copy of that publishing/cover to give. She said she knows she can't replace the sentiment, but hopes a signed copy will help.
In R? But how do you know it isn't another pack of lies?

Awww, I'm not surprised. I follow her on FB and she seems very genuine and sweet.
