Beyoncé’s entire Lemonade album is infidelity related. Worth watching some of the clips too.

Ordinary People by John Legend is a good one

We're not broken, just bent
And we can learn to love again

I also really recommend listening to all of the Lemonade album. It’s specifically about infidelity and overcoming and it’s just really raw and I felt so much of it in those early days. I feel like the album as a whole covers the entire catalogue of emotions a BS goes through. There is a song for every emotion on the roller-coaster. There are lots of “overcoming” relationship songs but very few artists seem to “go there” quite the way Beyonce does.

Somehow it always helped to remind me that if Beyoncé (who is, in her words, "the baddest woman in the game") could get cheated on, then yeah, it definitely wasn’t about her (and it wasn’t about me either).

Edit: All Night is probably the most Reconciliation-focused song but as someone who has gone through it, I needed the fuck-you-imma-heal-me-for-me confidence boost of “Sorry” far more than I needed “All Night”. 😁

I still feel that All Night hits the right spot.

By the way I recommend watching the YouTube videos for them.

This is an old song but I think it’s about reconciling after infidelity-

Solid As a Rock by Ashford & Simpson.

It’s no a out being cheated on but I think it’s specifically about reconciling afterwards.

Feels Like Tonight - Doughtry

Especially the line "there's nothing that I wanna do but try and make it up to you."

Cold Rock Bottom of your Heart - Randy Travis

These are songs about reconciliation.

My favorite 2 making it through infidelity songs are both by Reba McIntire.

How was I to Know: How was I to know I would be ok?
Thought I'd lose it all when you walked away.
How was I to know I would be this strong?
I had what it takes all along.
Hear me on the Radio - although she does't come right out and say it - it is defiantly a "fuck you" song.

Strong Enough -Cher This was my go to song when I needed to feel empowered .

Why - Tracy Byrd I really don't know why I like this song so much - it just gets to me whenever I hear it.

Time heals what reason cannot. Seneca

First the truth. Then, maybe, reconciliation. Louise Penny

Somewhere Only We Know by Keane. Not totally about reconciliation after an affair, but it really hits me when my thoughts are racing- is this the place I used to love? Simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting tired and I need something to rely on. Here's the full lyrics-

I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm gettin' old, and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm gettin' tired, and I need somewhere to begin
I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm gettin' old, and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm gettin' tired, and I need somewhere to begin
And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So, why don't we go
Somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin
And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So, why don't we go?
So, why don't we go?
Ooh, hey, hey
Oh-oh-oh
This could be the end of everything
So, why don't we go somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know
Somewhere only we know

We're not broken, just bent
And we can learn to love again

The song that has stayed in my head since D-day v1.0 (and remains there) is More Than Words by Extreme.

***********

Saying "I love you"
Is not the words I want to hear from you

It's not that I want you
Not to say but if you only knew

How easy, it would be to show me how you feel

More than words is all you have to do to make it real

Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me

'Cause I'd already know

What would you do
If my heart was torn in two?

More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real

What would you say
If I took those words away?

Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying "I love you"

La-di-da, da-di-da
Di-dai-dai-da
More than words
La-di-da, da-di-da

Now that I've tried to
Talk to you and make you understand

All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hands and touch me

Hold me close, don't ever let me go

More than words is all I ever needed you to show
Then you wouldn't have to say that you love me
'Cause I'd already know

What would you do
If my heart was torn in two?

More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real

What would you say
If I took those words away?

Then you couldn't make things new
Just by saying "I love you"

Reconciliation is a process that encompasses so many things, it’s hard to find one song to rule them all… Let's see…

After DDay: Shut Up – Black Eyed Peas
What BS is thinking: Self Esteem – The Offspring
What BS wants to hear: Always On My Mind – Elvis Presley
What WS is thinking: When I Come Around – Green Day
Friends: You’re My Mate – Right Said Fred
Hysterical bonding: I Feel Love – Donna Summer
BS after DDay2 / False reconciliation: My Way – Limp Bizkit
BS regaining self-esteem: Sexy And I Know It – LMFAO
WS finally exiting the fog (but not quite there yet): Dry Your Eyes – The Streets
BS thinking: Million Reasons – Lady Gaga
WS doing the work: Working My Way Back To You – Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons
Hope for the true reconciliation: Just Give Me A Reason – P!nk & Nate Ruess
After years and years, they both are just tired of fighting: 21 Guns – Green Day

Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events, is purely coincidental.

I like these additions, @InkHulk!

WS establishes "no contact" with the AP:
what BS hopes for: Everything About You - Ugly Kid Joe
what really happens: Purple Rain - Prince

barf but it's the sad truth in many cases...

Pink: Courage

Really all of the Hurts 2B Human album touches a chord.

The Chicks album Gaslighter is about her surviving, not reconciling.

Recently heard Hoobastank "Reason" and it made me shed a few tears. My WH was in the room too and we both just looked at each other and I said this is his song to me. I know some might get a different message than I do from the song, but I find it fits my situation well, except my WH is changing for himself not just "for me" but to be a better person and husband.

I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so, I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you
I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
That's why I need you to hear
I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you
And the reason is you
And the reason is you
And the reason is you
I'm not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know
I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
And the reason is you
I've found a reason to show
A side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do
And the reason is you
